VERDI X TRUSTICATE SETS THE STAGE FOR AN EMISSONS REDUCTION CREDIT PROGRAMME

Trusticate, a leading Danish blockchain technology company, is excited to announce its collaboration with Verdi, a pioneering company in New Zealand's sustainable farming sector specialising in carbon management. Together, they aim to pilot an Emissions Reduction Credit programme by utilising Trusticate’s blockchain-based data management software.

This venture will see Verdi utilise Trusticate’s blockchain software to tokenise emissions reductions data from farms across New Zealand. Verdi’s carbon reduction certificates will include direct and indirect emissions reductions, reduction methodologies, strict data standards, buffer measures and third-party verification of credentials. Through leveraging Trusticate’s single registry with a multi-party view, stakeholders including farmers, Verdi, Trust Alliance New Zealand (TANZ), third-party verifiers and buyers of credits and data will gain end-to-end transparency of emission reduction initiatives.

Partnering with Verdi allows us to showcase the transformative power of blockchain in addressing environmental challenges. Together, we're setting the stage for a more transparent and accountable carbon credit system.

- Thorkild Grothe-Møller, co-founder, CTO and CEO.

Trusticate’s collaboration with Verdi will form the pathway for Verdi’s soil carbon credits to get to market as verified credentials, with the tokenisation, authentication and transaction of data inside a digital wallet. Further, Verdi’s carbon reduction credits are aimed at addressing the challenges of Scope 3 GHG disclosure requirements of food processors, retailers and the financial sector.

At Verdi, we recognise the potential of Trusticate's technology in revolutionising carbon credit management. This collaboration not only amplifies our commitment to reducing climate impacts but also underscores our belief in the power of innovation for a brighter future.

- Jason Cruse, co-founder, Verdi NZ

By creating a market outlet with Trusticate to connect farmers as suppliers of data to buyers, Verdi aims to reward the decarbonisation efforts of the New Zealand agricultural sector and incentivise transparent and trustworthy GHG disclosures for the benefit of stakeholders across the food production value chain.

Moreover, the collaboration marks a clear use case of blockchain to enable secure, traceable and trusted data for climate impact reporting.
